DEVELOPMENT AND MODERNISATION

The main development of this school is clearly seen in terms of the increasing number of students from 50 at the early phase to 1000 at present. Besides that, the enrolment of the female students has also increased due to public demand asking the school to be opened for the female students. (The school was only opened to male students at the beginning of its operation).

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS

The school has also established relationship with other schools. This relationship is in terms of exchanging of ideas towards the further improvement of its learning system. There is no exchanging of teachers because this school is a private Higher Religious Learning Institution. However, every student in this school is familiar with other religious schools in their respective districts.

RELATIONSHIP WITH OUTSIDE BODIES

The "pondok" institution is a private body, thus they are not fond of accepting help and donations from outside bodies, especially the government whose source is full of uncertainties (in terms of "halal" and "haram"). They solely depend on public contributions and donations, students registration fees and also the administrators' thriftiness. The teachers taech voluntarily without taking any pay or salary. Students are forbidden from getting involved in politics to uphold the school's good reputation. However, Islamic struggle is still the main objective of the school. This is realised by producing students with Islamic understanding and capable of upholding Islam on this universe.

EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

The "pondok" system is a centre of Islamic studies which instills the Islamic spirit and inculcates spiritual elements in the sole of every individual student.

This is targeted towards the development of excellent "mukmin". It is a system descended from "Ulamak" (religious guru) and guided by 'Tuan Guru"  who is independent of others, seeks only the help of Allah, and also not hoping for high position in this temporary world. Their supreme aims are seeking Allah's blessings, abolishing bad morality and Islamic illiteracy among Muslims and upholding Islam. It also aims to produce students who can continue the preaching and practising of the Islamic knowledge. The school is used a place for studying various religious knowledge. References are the old books which were written and edited by the followers of "Mazhab Shafie" and other "mazhab" who follow the "Sunnah Wal-Jamaah". Discipline and practice are obligatory in order to achieve the aim of moulding a decent personality in every aspect such as clothing, words and deeds which will increase the degree of closeness to Allah in order to become excellent Muslims:

Objectives for upholding the "pondok" studies:

To make the "pondok" studies as an Islamic learning centre theoretically and practically;

To seek Allah's blessings and to abolish bad morality;

To produce knowledgeable, practising and brave generation who is full of "takwa" (fear of God).

To produce students who are experts and have deep Islamic understanding by adopting Islam as a way of life.

The 3-M System is also implemented to instil the love of knowledge among the students.

Components of studies are divided into 2:

"Umumi" Studies – Students are allowed to choose subjects to be studied.

"Nizami" studies – A class of self-paced studies.

Every student has to pay RM10.00 for registration, RM50.00 for the school annual fees, and RM2.00 for student society registration. They have to pay for the foods and drinks themselves. They are given the opportunity to own their own "pondok" (a small house) either by direct purchasing from the owner or renting or building a new one themselves. There is no age limit for those who study here. Surely, every student is given the chance to see the "pondok" first before occupying it or filling in a form to ensure that he/she is suitable or not in studying here.
